It is used for cutting corrugated roll in specified dimensions in a single facer corrugation machine. It also plays defining role in sheeters or 2Ply board cutters for making 2Ply corrugated board of specified dimensions, 

As such apart from making a central cut it also does side trimming to delivery the 2 Ply board of definite quality.
